Not Haiku

Big, big day in the WLBOTT-verse. But so we don’t peak too early, let’s reflect on some more not-haiku.

(These Eggs Were) Born to Run
Rob Carlson
“There’s no actual crime any more, the police will have time on their hands.”

Across the Jersey line
There’s a little dinner
Run by a couple a Greeks

And though it’s suicide
We’re gonna take that ride
The danger that we seek

Block front pages by Frank Purdue
The wings to you
And you know you can’t chicken out

Well, baby those egg shells are ready to crack
It’s a death trap
There’s no goin’ back / gotta finish what we’ve begun
‘Cause eggs like these, baby they were born to run.

We’re gonna meet the fellas
down at Salmonella’s
Where the boys get wild and reckless

We’re gonna crack some jokes
and break some yolks
And wrap ourselves ’round some breakfast.

Together Wendy we’ll have eggs over easy
Bacon so greasy it floats there on the side.
Right there girl, it will be on our plate
we’ll laugh at our fate
And the waitress will bring us some sunny-side up just for fun

‘Cause eggs like these, baby they were born to run.

Conversation with our Staff Linguist

I just had a very enlightening conversation with the WLBOTT staff linguist, co-conspirator #2, about the shortest grammatically correct English sentences.

They are:
Go! Be! Do!

Binary permutations

  • Go! Do! Be!
  • Go! Be! Do!
  • Do! Go! Be!
  • Do! Be! Go!
  • Be! Go! Do!
  • Be! Do! Go!

Hope we’re not infringing on Malaria Trump’s profound First Lady Initiative: “Good Better Best”. Or was it, “Good, gooder, goodest?”
