Today we have a fascinating and heartwarming story from a few years ago. An ER doctor in the small Wyoming town of Torrington decided to become a master baker and unleash his daughter’s culinary creativity.
I searched online for baking schools, and the first hit was for Marda Stoliar’s International School of Baking in Bend, Oregon, which claimed it could teach someone how to start a bakery in 20 days. I was skeptical. How could that work?

This story crossed many disciplines, and was featured by the USDA:

The Bread Doctor’s Facebook page shows a lot of yummy pastries:

And today!

A Short Aside….
This leads us to the World’s Largest Bavarian Soft Pretzel (WLBSP).

And the world’s oldest pretzel:

This is not just WLBOTT talking. This is science.

Continuing our aside…. the best Doughnut
To be clear, the best donut in Central Texas is the Round Rock Donut. And by extension, this means it is the best donut in Texas, America, Earth, the Solar System, and finally, our Milky Way Galaxy. And based on anticipated results from the James Webb Telescope, possibly the best donut in the Universe.
I did find it rather funny that the world’s best doughnut shop uses cookies (or, as they say in England, biscuits).

There is even consensus from the Commonwealth:

And Back to the Bread Doctor….
A short documentary, called Madra’s Gift, was featured on Wyoming Public Broadcasting.

This post made my mouth water!!! My father once remarked that I couldn’t walk past a bakery without going in. Although I would disagree with him about many things, he was not wrong on that point.
Here’s an idea: If any Elder of WLBOTT wins the lottery (>=$10M), we will open side by side international bakeries. French bakery, Mexican bakery, German bakery, Canadian bakery, Swedish bakery, American bakery. Where should we build them? On Baker Street.
