At Puzzle Hobby Magazine, we are always searching for something different that is jigsaw puzzle related so you can imagine how interested we were the minute we saw the Magnum Opus by Jill Walterbach.
Tammy: This record is actually a pretty old one. The previous record was set in 2014. So, my first step was getting a hold of the puzzle. There is a specific puzzle required for the record and this puzzle is actually out of print! I had to track down a copy from the UK on Ebay. The next step was contacting Guinness. They have a specific list of requirements that need to be satisfied for a successful record attempt. I had planned to make an attempt in summer 2020 at a puzzle event, and of course, everything got cancelled. It was December 2020 before I figured out how to safely organize an attempt.
REA: Was there anything unusual about the Hasbro puzzle?
Tammy: It’s a fairly standard cardboard puzzle. It’s oval shaped, and doesn’t come with a reference picture. The puzzle image features a number of other world record holders.

Most jigsaw puzzle pieces tattooed on the body
For many of us, puzzles hold a special piece of our hearts, and we all show our love of puzzles in different ways. For the performer who calls himself The Enigma, the best way to show that love was to tattoo it on his body.
Never that interested in fitting in, he began covering himself with tattoos in 1992 and was officially recognized by Guinness World Records on April 13, 2011 for his full-body jigsaw puzzle tattoo that includes 2,123 individual puzzle pieces.

Katzen the Tiger Lady
The Enigma received his first tattoos from Katzen the Tiger Lady.
Katzen the Tiger Lady, or Katzen Hobbes, is a female performance artist and tattoo artist, whose full body tattoo theme is that of a tiger. Katzen is the German word for cats.
Tattooing
She received extensive tattooing on all parts of her body and wore tiger whiskers attached via piercings on her face. Most of the feline tattooing occurred between the ages of 18 and 28. More than 227 different tattoo artists have inked her up, including 23 at one time. Katzen removed her plastic whiskers after 14 years of wear because she started to feel that they affected her field of vision.
Katzen was married to The Enigma, with whom she performed in a band called The Human Marvels before their divorce.
