WLBOTT Corporate Headquarters has been basking in the glow of Google Fiber for several months now. It is indeed a thing of beauty.
However, yesterday, 7:14am CST, it went dead. Marching uphill through gale-force humidity, I made it to our local public library, where I was able to use a public Internet workstation and chat with a Fiber Tech. Such a pleasure to work with these folks – polite, efficient, on the ball. They sent out a tech first thing this morning, who detected a “crimp in the optical cable,” requiring a different team to re-splice the fiber. A few hours later, we were back in business.
But this provided an excellent opportunity to see what AI made of the prompt: “crimp in the optical cable”.
