Is WLBOTT (Lunch) Counter-Revolutionary?

A lively discussion is taking place among the Elders.

5/25/2024, 10:42 AM

I feel the elders have been trying to be inclusive of our guild recognizing some of us use the metric system vs American system of measurement and Celsius vs Fahrenheit temperature scales.

But my ear-worm today is the term ‘counterclockwise’ vs ‘anti clockwise’ (Brit) vs Ukrainian Проти годинникової стрілки.

While pleasantly watching the Monaco Grand Prix today, the British ‘presenters’ continually used the term anti-clockwise in describing the track path. Can’t we agree counter clockwise is superior to anti-clockwise and shall be WLBOTT’s preferred term as we are circumnavigating the globe?

And one last thought since I have been stuck on the tarmac[1] at Houston Intercontinental Airport for 30 minutes waiting for a gate to open up.

When the WLBOTT tour goes south of the equator, will clocks and the term ‘counter-clockwise’ need to be reversed due to the change in the Coriolis effect. I am concerned some of the elderly elders (myself included) may get dazed and confused.

Folks,

As an established supporter of antidisestablishmentarianism[2], I believe that charging 5 Pounds for a list of words is anti-ethical and anti-social.

On the topic, I draw your attention to Antigonish, Nova Scotia. My fear is that someday, one of the residents will order a package of Gonesh[3] and on arrival, the two will annihilate each other in an explosion that will destroy the universe as we know it.

Anti-Confusion

To avoid confusion, we wish to point out the difference between counter (prefix) and counter (lunch).

Do we go to war over this invasive marketing?

No, we extend an olive branch. As a peace offering, here is “Peace Thru Chocolate”:
